Item Description
This specimen is an attractive small cabinet piece consisting of a few good quality, sharp, gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, lavender "reverse" scepter habit crystals and simple prisms of Amethyst measuring up to 17 mm associated with white/colorless modified scalenohedra of Calcite sitting on a thin layer of underlain forest-green "chlorite" on matrix. Despite the fact that this is a Quartz and Calcite association peice, it's actually pretty remarkably for Bolivia as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality in this country, and Bombori has certainly produced the best crystallized Calcites from Bolivia extant. The Calcite crystals on this specimen are very sharp, with good gemminess which is certainly not common for this material. Lastly, there is a small bladed beige colored crystal on the side of the specimen that could be Baryte, but I'm not 100% certain. A good matrix piece and pretty attractive compared to most from Bombori.
