Item Description

Amethyst crystal specimens from this obscure South Carolina locale are RARE. This impresssive large specimen consists of intergrown, very glassy, gemmy to translucent crystals with striking swirls of pretty variable purple color. The dramatic large crystal is 6.0 cm. Only three crystals have very gently bruised terminations and the noted periphery wear and contacting certainly have only minimal impact to the overall very fine quality of this outstanding large old rarity. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1966. It looks like Thunder Bay, Ontario amethyst, but it's not. Valued at $1000-1250 for rarity, size and quality.
