Item Description
Amethyst is extremely rare from the Alpine-Type deposits at Alchuri and this is a showy and rare large combination specimen from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. A very well located 4.2 cm pod with a nifty winding, wrap-around tail is composed of glassy, light blush-purple amethyst crystals. The scultpural, light green, chlorite-rich matrix hosts a nice scattering of pearlescent, sharp, orthoclase variety adularia crystals and two striking veins, at each end of the piece, of lustrous, olive-green epidote blades. A bonus on the back is a 3.0 cm nest of sparkly, actinolite variety byssolite needles. All-in-all, an excellent and very rare large combination specimen from Alchuri with several fine display possibilties.
