Item Description

A RARE and large locality specimen for this important US locality! The small deposit was found by accident, and specimens of quality and size are few. Pieces like this remain as trophies in major USA collections. This magnificent, doubly terminated specimen, exhibits three phases of quartz with the basal portion being glassy, gemmy and colorless. The next phase is milky quartz up to and including the temination, followed by a glassy and gemmy light amethystine phase over the milky crystals. the largest crystal measures 11.5 cm in length and one of the amethyst crystals, 3.2 cm in length, sits on top of a milky crystal, thus forming a scepter. This is surely one of the largest clusters from that find. Valued $3500-4500
