Item Description
A holdback from the mine owners collection, this belonged to Rodney Moore for all the years since this pocket was found. Gorgeous, sharp and gemmy, blush-purple, amethyst crystals are very aesthetically clustered on the two-sided rib of water-clear quartz points. This outstanding piece is from the 2006 Gem Pocket find at the famous Jacksons Crossroads locality. The amethyst crystals reach 3.7 cm and are all pristine. The rusty iron oxides between the crystals really add color and pazzazz. The JC amethyst is highly desirable when on matrix - they are notoriously hard to mine, and not very common at all to get them on quartz. Here is your chance to get a glorious and rare matrix example from this noted find and locality. Valued at $900-1000. this is NOT just normal quality, but rather is a trim off one of the most famous, important, and valuable specimens ever found here for its gemminess and contrasts.
