Amethyst on Japan-law twin Quartz (rare)

Item Description

This less well-known Madagascar locality produced exceptionally fine Japan law-twin quartz specimens in 2000-2001 (MINDAT). This is a striking, rare and excellent miniature with only one (the largest) of the twinned quartz crystals tips being richly included with variable rich grape-purple amethyst. Little included goethite needles are a nifty accent. The lustrous, translucent to transparent, 360-degree quartz/amethyst is in great shape. The amethyst termination has only the most trivial of bruising and the bruised back of the quartz termination is mostly out-of-sight. Choice and rare material. Valued at $600 for quality and rarity.
