Item Description

Here we have a classic specimen of the locally famous Amethysts from Unaweep Canyon in Colorado. Specimens of this material are very uncommon on the market, and are desirable from the Amethyst Queen Mine. The terminations of this excellent crystal cluster are a glassy with a pleasing purple color. The underside of the specimen features a thin layer of green Fluorite. Very little damage. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
