Amethyst on Calcite on Calcite cast w/ Anhydrite (Ken Roberts Coll.)

A spectacular, surprising and RARE large two-sided combination from Artigas and the Ken Roberts Pseudomorph Collection. Beautiful, scintillating, gemmy pretty purple amethyst crystals are festooned on the dramatically sculptural cluster of intergrown, stout, stubby, glassy, translucent, calcite scalenohedron "fingers". The piece resembles a strange "hand" with purple growths. The back is fantastically different!! A striking, very large complex calcite rhomb has been casted by the quartz and is lined with lustrous green Celadonite, an uncommon Mica Group mineral. A surreal filagree boxwork of starkly contrasting paper thin anhydrite? dominates a portion of this unreal two-sided piece. Value? Hard to say, but we believe $1500-2000 is not unreasonable for such a unique large two-sided combination rarity.
