Fine amethyst specimens from Japan are uncommon at best and this is an aesthetic and very showy example from this old and obscure locale. A striking, 4.2 cm, tapered crystal dominates this plate of glassy, pretty blush-purple points. The large crystal is pristine and the couple of broken crystals on the plate have negligible impact on this fine and rare old-time piece.
