This rather large gem has a beautiful medium purple color face up, but when you flip it over, you can see there is a bit of color zoning, where the purple color is a bit stronger in areas, and nearly colorless in other areas. The color is completely natural. To me, the most significant aspect of this stone is that it is virtually eye clean in clarity, which is remarkble for the size. It has a standard an "Emerald" cut.
