Amethyst (Kenya)

Item Description

A striking, pretty variably lavender, sharply terminated amethyst scepter from this remote region of Kenya. Some of the faces have dramatic skeletal and/or stepped-growth features and there are even some clay inclusions, all of which, are super accents. Two edges of the termination have just a bit of bruising. Some side wear and contacting are noted, but are mostly out-of-sight in the primary display views. The base is partially terminated and partially dinged, adding more character. This area has recently produced some stunning amethyst specimens and this is a showy example.
