Item Description
Sharp, lustrous, rust-red hematite-included amethyst pyramids are aesthetically clustered on this sculptural large plate from the famous Thunder Bay District of Ontario. The crystals reach about 3.4 cm. You can see the rich purple amethyst of the earlier growth of the crystals on the periphery. The interior is very nearly pristine, with only one gently bruised tip. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020 Excellent, highly representative material of this varietal from the noted district.
