Item Description

This specimen is an attractive small cabinet size piece consisting of good quality, sharp, gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, lavender prisms of Amethyst measuring up to 16 mm associated with white/grey, modified rhombohedra of Calcite sitting on underlain "chlorite" on matrix. This piece is remarkable for Bolivia as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality, and this locality has certainly produced the best Calcites from Bolivia extant. A fine matrix piece and very attractive compared to most from Bombori.
