Item Description

In the Eastern jungle of Bolivia, you'll find the famed Anahi Mine, the source of some of the most impressive crystals of Amethyst (and Ametrine) from any world locality. The locality is a large hydrothermal Quartz deposit, and has produced some large and fine quality Amethyst crystals over the years. A certain percentage of this material is gem grade, and makes for some excellent faceted material. This particular stone has what is called a "Fantasy" cut, where the underside/pavilion/culet area of the gem has actually been carved to create beautiful geometric patterns, freeform designs or unique shapes that are seldom seen in any colored stones on the market today. The gem was cut by Brett Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co., who is a 4-time AGTA Spectrum Award winning gem cutter, and features a completely eye-clean purple Bolivian Amethyst with gorgeous 4-sided diamond shapes that can be seen carved into the bottom of the stone. This piece was cut completely by hand, and is a one-of-a-kind. It's a combination of both a gemstone and gem art, and can be easily set into jewelry, or left on its own in a gem box to show off in your collection. A fine quality, unique and eye-catching stone of this wonderful material.
