Item Description

Specimens from "Las Vigas" (now more properly Piedra Parada) are among the most sought after and fine quality examples of Amethyst in the world. Here we have a fantastic miniature specimen featuring a textbook, razor sharp, highly lustrous, GEMMY, beautiful purple color (nearly white at the base) hexagonal prism highlighted by several small thin prisms of Quartz with minor Epidote growing at the base. One of the smaller Amethysts on the bottom of the specimen actually shows a scepter habit. The main Amethyst is virtually pristine and looks gorgeous from all sides. The piece is nearly 100% damage free, save the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. Interestingly, I can see a small termination on the lower half of the crystal making this a doubly-terminated specimen as well. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell.
