Amethyst (doubly-terminated crystals) (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A beautiful and eye-catching group of classic Amethyst crystals from the Kingston Range in San Bernardino County, California. Nearly all of the crystals on the front are doubly-terminated and show excellent prismatic hexagonal form with lustrous faces. The color ranges from a rich saturated purple hue at the ends, to nearly white Quartz in the center. Good quality on the front, but there is a separation mark on the back where it was detached from the pocket wall. It's not often that one finds such a showy multiple doubly-terminated group like this from the Kingston Range. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
