Some of the finest Eastern USA amethysts have come from Due West and this is a striking and excellent large example. Transparent to translucent, glassy crystals with variable rich purple color and nifty splashes of smoky color dramatically enclose the matrix shaft. The impresssive large crystal is 6.3 cm. The imposing frontal display view is in great shape, with only a gently bruised crystal on the left side and a small edge bruise to the large crystal. The contacted back, totally covered with amethyst, has no damage, per se. Specimens of this size, quality and rich color are seldom on the market. Value??
