Item Description
A spectacular, LARGE CABINET, amethyst specimen from Artigas, Uruguay. It looks like a purple rocketship taking off! The sparkling, purple, "rocket" is actually a crystallized amethyst cast after a long and large, pseudohexagonal calcite crystal, that has been dissolved away. The rocket is attached to beautiful ball or corsage of intensely, grape-purple, amethyst crystals giving the whole specimen an incredibly dramatic look. The rocket has one very well done, clean repair about midway down. This striking piece looks great from many perspectives and is essentially pristine, except for the repair. One of the finest amethyst casts we have seen from either Uruguay or Brazil. Try to find another like it!! Ex Dave and Emily Stoudt Collection # 790 and valued at $1500-2000
