Amethyst and Smoky Quartz scepters on Quartz (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A beautiful and very hard to find specimen from the Crystal Ridge locality in the Inyo Mts of California. This piece features fine, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich purple Amethyst and Smoky Quartz bi-colored crystals which have formed scepter habit crystals sitting on a base of white Quartz. Despite a bit of roughness, the piece is in good condition, and the tops of the scepters look amazing when backlit as they are richly colored and very gemmy! If you collect minerals of California, Quartz specimens or unusual/rare locality pieces, don't miss out on this interesting and eye-catching display specimen from this obscure locale. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
