Stunning large and sculptural amethyst from the recent finds in Indonesia. This amazing art-form piece resembles the famous Nike athletic products trademark "Swoosh". Translucent, matte-lustre pretty violet botryoids cover the front of this incredible specimen. This is a superlative two-sided solid amethyst piece, as the back is undamaged. The narrow attachment is along the bottom edge of the fat part of the Swoosh. These caused a major stir at recent shows and are certainly beautiful, colorful and artistically fine specimens. Botryoidal amethyst is quite rare worldwide. Analysis by Dr. George Rossman at Caltech concluded these should be labeled as amethyst, and not chalcedony or agate.
