Item Description

This specimen is a great cabinet size piece consisting of good quality, sharp, gemmy, prismatic, lavender, doubly-terminated crystals and simple prisms of Amethyst sitting atop grey modified rhombohedra of Calcite on with a very thin layer of underlain "Chlorite" on matrix. The largest Amethyst measures 2.1 cm and is doubly-terminated. is one of the better pieces from the find for quality, aesthetics and overall appeal. It should be noted that Calcite is actually a rare species in Bolivia, and certainly the best crystals of the well known carbonate are found at Bombori
