Amethyst

Item Description

The Brandberg District is justifiably famous for it's superb Amethyst crystals, and this pair of 'rabbit ears' does the locality proud. The crystals are gemmy and have a deep purple color with hints of phantoms. The luster is very good, and the fact that one crystal is more tabular and the other more prismatic adds visual and mineralogical interest. There are a few miner dings, and one chip on the side, but they really do not diminish the attractiveness at all. The longest crystal is 5.2 cm.
