Amethyst specimens are truly rare from Orange River localities as opposed to the more northerly and famous Goboboseb locales. Orange River is noted for rich hematite-included quartz crystals. This showy and excellent plate features numerous glassy amethyst crystals with interior phantoms of rich grape-purple to blush purple inside of colorless exteriors. A fine two-sided piece, with only the larger crystals have slight termination bruising from contacting the pocket wall. Striking, beautiful and rare. Choice material from the Charlie Key dealer stock.
