Amblygonite

Amblygonite is only found from a few localities in top gem material. Stones that approach five carats are highly sought after by collectors, and deeply appreciated by those who have experience with rare gems. This particular stone has a light greenish color, and a "Round Brilliant" cut. With the naked eye, I cannot see any inclusions in this gem, which is impressive for the material, even in smaller stones. Amblygonite is too soft and brittle for jewelry, but these are not very common today in ANY size. This would make a great addition to any rare stone collection. It should be noted that the majority of what we see on the market labeled as Amblygonite has recently been identified as Montebrasite, and confirmed Amblygonite is now incredibly rare by comparison. It's very likely that this stone is Montebrasite, but we're keeping the original identification just in case.
