Amber with MULTIPLE insect inclusions

There are a fair number of Amber localities around the world, but collectors love Dominican Amber because it is some of the best quality material in terms of clarity and color. Amber really became world famous after it was featured in the first Jurassic Park film, and whether you consider this to be a fossil or a mineral specimen, you can't deny that it's just plain cool. These pieces are beloved because many of them feature superb insect "fossils" frozen within. This wonderful small cabinet sized piece of this well-known material is filled with several insects inclusions (possibly mosquitos, gnats or ants) that are clearly visible through the transparent golden Amber host material. Often we only seen a single insect inclusion in these pieces, so to have multiple insects like this is a real treat. Typically, these pieces are just "lumps", but this one is an attractive "limb" with excellent clarity. This piece was valued at $600 in our inventory.
