Item Description
Dominican Amber is popular on the market due to the fact that collectors know it's some of the best quality material in the world. Not only is the clarity and color of the material eye-catching, but pieces features superb insect "fossils" which are completely frozen inside. A lot of people are familiar with this material because of its role in the movie Jurassic Park. Here we have a wonderful tapered specimen of this beloved material featuring a rich golden interior that hosts several insects inclusions (possibly mosquitos, gnats, ants - one spot that really looks like a spider!) which are easy to see through the transparent Amber. Typically, most pieces will only host a single insect inclusion, so when you have a MULTIPLE insects like this, it's a real treat. It doesn't matter if you consider this material to be a fossil or a mineral specimen, these are just plain cool. We have a good friend who sold us a small parcel of this material which was stashed away several years ago. We're told that it is not easy to find pieces like this one the market, so if you want one, don't pass it up, especially for a great price in the auctions.
