Item Description
A beautiful specimen of Amber from the Dominican Republic featuring many very well-preserved flying insects (possibly mosquitos or gnats) along with ants, beetles and termites completely frozen inside. This material is always popular on the market, and even though its more of a fossil than a mineral, it's still a cool display piece of this well known material. It's not common to find a piece with THIS many insects inside. It's a VERY rich specimen, best viewed under the microscope, and I spent over 10 minutes looking at it, and I'm sure I didn't see everything in there. I have seen comparable pieces online valued at $1000 (http://www.ecrater.com/p/12752434/swarm-of-ant-insect-fossil-inclusions-in?gps=1&id=102398745379).
