Item Description

The Amber from the Dominican Republic is really high quality, among the best in the world. These specimens are not only prized for their clarity, but they also can feature highly desirable and sought after insect "fossils" preserved inside. This small cabinet piece has tremendous gem clarity and that classic color and hosts several (not just one) flying insect inclusions of what could be a species of gnat which are beautiful suspended inside. The close up photos show the wonderful detail of the insects. This material was made famous in the Jurassic Park films, and this is a great chance to pick up a piece of this classic and beloved material. Whether you see this as a mineral, a fossil or somewhere in between, it's really cool stuff and not terribly easy to find on the market in such good quality. It's important to note that most of these pieces only features a single insect, so to find MULTIPLE insect inclusions like this is rare, especially in a piece this size.
