Amber with insect inclusions

Item Description

A beautiful specimen of Amber from the Dominican Republic featuring a handful of very well-preserved flying insects (most likely a species of mosquito?) frozen inside. This material is always popular on the market, and even though its more of a fossil than a mineral, it's still a cool display piece of this well known material. This material comes from the Dominican Republic and the Amber dates from Oligocene to Miocene, thus about 25 million years old.
