Item Description

A beautiful specimen of Amber from the Dominican Republic featuring a handful of very well-preserved flying insects (most likely a species of fly) frozen inside. Looking closely, I think there could be more than one kind of insect, because not all of them have wings. This material is always popular on the market, and even though its more of a fossil than a mineral, it's still a cool display piece of this well known material. This material comes from the Colombian rainforest, and the Amber itself formed 14 million years ago during the Miocence Epoch.
