Amber with ''Air Dendrites'' and ''Wood Chip'' Inclusions

Amber is one of the few organic materials that falls into the "mineral" category, as you'll often see pieces of Amber at mineral and gem shows around the world. This material is beloved due to the fact that it often contains interesting and unique inclusions. This piece is from the town of Velten in the Oberhavel District of Brandenburg, Germany and according to the accompanying label states that it features "wood chip" inclusions and some gorgeous "air dendrites". The "wood chip" inclusions are fibrous and clearly part of a tree, but my favorite part of the piece is the beautiful "air dendrites" as they almost look like a piece of coral suspended inside the amber itself. A fantastic piece from an unlikely locality that would make a great addition to your collection.
