Item Description
This locality is obviously best known for its attractive Topaz crystals, which are some of the best from the United States, but this classic granitic pegmatite has also produced some attractive soft green Amazonite specimens. This piece features a sharp, lustrous, well-formed blue-green Amazonite crystal which are associated with thin acicular prismatic black Tourmaline (Schorl) to create a very pretty dual-tone colored specimen. I love how the termination has a semi-etched / "stepped" appearance and still shows a highly reflective luster. A really cool display piece of NON-Colorado Amazonite from this famous locality near Hawthorne.
