Item Description

The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. This piece features a sharp, well-formed, rich blue-green color Amazonite crystal sitting atop a bladed group of white Albite (var: "Cleavelandite"). Keep in mind that the best of these specimens (especially with top color) sell for big money these days, and considering that fewer and fewer top quality specimens are found each year, this one would make a great addition to any collection. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected nearly 30 years ago, and was in the collection of Brian Kosnar, and was collected by his dad Richard Kosnar in the early 1980s. NO repairs or restorations on this one, unlike most contemporary pieces you'll see from other dealers today.
