Item Description
A wonderful, showy miniature specimen from this famous district in Colorado. The pegmatites around the Pike's Peak area (mostly Park and Teller Counties) in Colorado have produced what dealers and collectors know are the finest crystallized Amazonite specimens in the world in terms of standpoint of color, quality, displayability and classic associations. Here we have a very showy and good quality piece features a few superb quality, very sharp, well-formed, lustrous, fine blue-green color blocky prismatic Amazonite crystals measuring up to 2.5 cm long associated with snow-white colored "balls" of Albite (var: Cleavelandite). This association is highly desirable from this area, as it's not easy to find good crystallized Amazonite with attractive Albite like this. The display side of the piece is undamaged, and the only contacted area is on the underside where the piece was removed from the pocket. Additionally, this piece is completely UNREPAIRED, which is not commonly seen in contemporary Amazonites. The piece displays nicely without the aid of a base or clay. With the higher prices being paid for top Amazonite specimens, this is a great opportunity to pick up a wonderful display quality miniature with a classic association. This specimen was collected nearly over 40 years ago (August 1976), by Richard Kosnar who found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado classic.
