Item Description

This is a beautiful and rarely seen specimen from one of the most well-known mineral producing areas in Colorado. For many decades, the vast pegmatites surrounding the Lake George area of Park/Teller County, Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen is a beautiful miniature hosting a pair of sharp, well-formed, vivid blue-green color Amazonite crystals with distinctive and highly sought after white "caps". There are a couple contacted Quartz crystals on the base of the specimen for a bit of character. Keep in mind that the best of these specimens (especially with top color) sell for big money these days, and considering that fewer and fewer top quality specimens are found each year, this one would make a great addition to any collection. No damage that I can find to the Amazonite crystals outside of the base of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall, and the white "caps" are fairly thick for the material. Don't miss out on this great Colorado classic. From the collection of Bill Sobolewski.
