Item Description
This is a classic display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This piece is a sharp, well-formed, blue-green color Amazonite crystal with a distinctive white "cap", along with an additional white coating along the prisms. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected over 30 years ago (July 1980) by Richard Kosnar. Amazonites are certainly some of the most classic mineral specimens from Colorado, and nothing can hold a candle to the best pieces this area has produced.
