Item Description

Tiny schorl needles are preferentially embedded in the terminations of the sculptural, 360-degree pair of intergrown sharp amazonite crystals from this well-known Nevada pegmatite. The sharp, lustrous, euhedral crystals have beautiful variable rich turquoise-blue color and typical for the locale, mottled and striped faces. The large crystal is also partially doubly terminated and is a partial white cap, adding character. The Zapot pegmatite is best known for some of the finest USA topaz specimens. See the 1999 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 30, No. 4. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. A classic and excellent small cabinet example of the species and locale.
