Item Description

An adorable and aesthetic combination piece from the Robert Bartsch Collection and from an obscure Crystal Peak area mine. The amazonites have rich turquoise-blue color with white accents, fine form, luster and are DOUBLY TERMINATED. The attached sharply terminated smoky has striking variable color and is very glassy, translucent to transparent. It is also technically doubly terminated, as the broken base is totally healed over. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very gentle bruising to the smoky tip. This superb 360-degree piece is UNREPAIRED, a rarity in itself. It displays great, without aid. Bartsch was a noted California field collector and collector. He passed away in 2014 and here is a link to a fine article written by his friend, Rock Currier: http://www.mindat.org/article.php/2158/Robert+Bartsch+++RIP++1939+to+2014. Fairly valued at $800 and worth it. The amazonite blue is richer, than the photos show.
