Item Description
A striking, RARE style large amazonite/microcline from the mid-2000s finds in Ethiopia. Most of the amazonite from here was a rich turquoise-blue and rivaled amazonite from the famous Pikes Peak Batholith. High praise, indeed. This impressive and sculptural rare piece features strikingly intergrown, large, textbook sharp, creamy/pastel-pink microcline crystals accented with beautiful patches of blue-green amazonite. The dramatic, well-placed, doubly-terminated frontal crystal is 6.0 cm. This remarkable and rare piece is nearly pristine, with only a bruised edge to a single crystal on the left side. An outstanding example of this varietal from the Herb Obodda Collection # 2287.
