Item Description

In the early 2000s, some very fine Amazonite specimens started coming out of Ethiopia. The best of these pieces rivaled the world-class specimens from Colorado. Here we have showy piece featuring a pair of sharp, richly blue-green colored, lustrous Amazonite crystals measuring 2.9 cm across associated with a handful of lightly colored Smoky Quartz prisms on a blocky off-white Albite matrix. The Amazonites have great color along with good blocky form, and virtually no damage to speak of on the display side, although there is a slight contact on the back of the specimen where it was removed from the pocket wall. It's a fine piece on a worldwide scale for Amazonite. From a prominent Midwest collection that we recently acquired.
