While there are many styles and colors to Colorado amazonite, these turquoise-like and porcelain crystals from the Jack Rabbit mine are among our personal favorites. Rock collected these with his good buddy Bob Bartsch, back in the 1980s. The color is beautiful, and not too deep and not too light. They have a luster and surface that is as much like porcelain as you can get, and more smooth than most amazonite finds. Offset by just a little cleavelandite matrix, this is a perfect small cabinet piece with a really sculptural beauty to it. Typical quality pieces in this size can be had, it is true, might be had for around $1000. But this is better than most, and worth more like $1000-2000 in our opinion.

NOTE ADDED: We realized this color looks slightly different in hue, though equally beautiful, in LED vs fluorescent lighting, and added photos to show it in both lighting environments.
