Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen features a fine quality, sharp blocky, bright blue-green single Amazonite crystal. The piece is not complete all the way around, but it has very good color and form for the material, and it's not easy to find attractive thumbnails (or in this case large thumbnail / toenail) of this material. This specimen was collected over 35 years ago (September of 1980) by Dave Bergman who is the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
