Item Description

This outstanding piece is from one of the most famous pockets of amazonite found, of all time, for its distinctive style. The Key-hole vug was found June 20, 1986, and dispersed into the major collections. The previous owner, from whom I exchanged this specimen, obtained it at that time. Nothing quite like it has been found since, with this style of separated, isolated crystals of turquoise-blue nestled in the white matrix of bladed cleavelandite. The large crystal is 7.3 x 5.8 x 4.7 cm. The striking opposing crystal is a Carlsbad-twin. A superb and aesthetic large UNREPAIRED combination specimen from the find. Specimens from this find are very seldom on the market. Valued at $3500-4000. This is a rarely seen pocket, very distinct from other finds! A major spiker for this auction. You just have to sit back and say, "Rob is crazy" sometimes...but it came in a deal where we could afford to put it out there!
