Item Description

This is a great display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen is a beautiful miniature. It features a sharp, well-formed, rich blue-green color Amazonite crystal with classic off-white color stripes along the prism. The piece sits beautifully without the aid of a base or clay. Very minor edge wear near the base. Keep in mind that the best of these specimens (especially with top color) sell for big money these days, and considering that fewer and fewer top quality specimens are found each year, this one would make a great addition to any collection. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected 40 years ago (August 1976), when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic".
