Amazonite and Smoky Quartz

Item Description

A classic example, large display sized, of the famous American combination of amazonite feldspar with smoky quartz. While most are not exceptional for either species, it is the color combination and contrast together that makes these so desired, like art. This large specimen has very sharp crystals of both species, arranged so complement one another. Unlike most large plates from this region, it has no repairs, or restorations....unusual for a specimen of this size. Purchased in 2001, but likely from much older finds.
