Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites around the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what I think nearly all collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This small cabinet features sharp, well-formed, beautiful blue-green color Amazonite crystals very minor white Albite (var: "Cleavelandite"). The Amazonite crystals have a slight "striped" appearance, with a selective deposition of a lighter colored Feldspar on certain faces. Good quality all around with no major damage on the display side to the main crystals. The largest Amazonite measures 2.7 cm. The back of the piece features a hand-written label from an unknown collection that mentions the name "O. Pforote". Despite our best efforts, we cannot find any name in any database that matches what's on the label.
