Distinct alunite crystals of this size and quality are rare from any locality and are especially rare from this Utah locale. Glassy rosettes of oxide-coated, flattened rhombs attractively fill a vug in massive alunite. The Art Montgomery label dates from 1937-41 and the piece was probably collected by his partner, famed field collector, Ed Over. Ex University of Delaware Collection. A very fine provenance on this exceptional Utah specimen. A must for the species or locality collector.
