Item Description
Altaite is uncommon lead tellurium and is typically found in hydrothermal vein gold--tellurium-bearing deposits. Iridescent metallic-silver altaite microcrystals in large podlets richly cover all sides of the matrix on this rich and rare thumbnail piece. This excellent specimen is from the obscure Hilltop Mine, near the famous Stephenson-Bennett Mine. Seldom on the market. Very rich ore. Ex Chris Cowan Collection.
