Item Description
Superb alstonite crystal clusters richly cover one side and nearly totally cover the other side on this outstanding, old-time combination specimen from the famous Co-type Locality. The glassy scalenohedrons on the front are up to about 6 mm long. THE PIECE IS DRIPPING WITH SHARP CRYSTALS! Two, sharp, glassy, layered, tapered, witherite crystals to 3.2 cm are aesthetically attached to the sculptural matrix. Ex George Elling Collection; and comes with an older Wards label with an October 27, 1938 date stamped on it. This is a TRULY great alstonite and as a bonus a still decent old witherite specimen. Valued at $600-750 for the alstonite alone .
