Almandine in schist

A classic and well-formed, deep brownish-red dodecahedron of Almandine measuring 7 mm across is nestled in schist matrix. The crystal is good sized for the locality, and is sharp and smooth compared to the few I've seen as well. Seldom are these classic Garnets offered on the market, and are typically only seen in older collections or museums. If you're a Garnet collector, do not miss out on picking up this rare display specimen of this somewhat hard to find material.
